Why Medellín?
Medellín, the city of eternal spring
Capital of Antioquia province, a fertile region famous for its coffee plantations and its flower farms, for its orchids and butterflies, it is known as the City of Eternal Spring for its idyllic climate. There is an abundance of parks, libraries, museums and public spaces where many Cultural events take place. Flowers have their own fair and in the surrounding villages life is simple with relaxing landscapes and nature reserves.
Is it safe to travel there? Yes, Medellín was once infamously dangerous — it was even once known as the most dangerous city in the world! But the Medellín of today is completely different. In fact, Medellín's 82% decline in violent crime means that the city is now safer than New Orleans. Tourists who visit Medellín will be pleased to find a vibrant cityscape that is used to warm weather, good coffee, vibrant nightlife, and unique cultural celebration through art, music, and food.
